Ja Morant and turnovers. As you might know Ja Morant is the heart and soul of the Murray State basketball team. He is considered to be one of the top players, if not the top player in the draft. With him being the heart of the team, he controls how this team does. If he is having a bad game, then Murray State will soon follow.
One thing that haunts Murray State is turnovers, although they are among the best at forcing them they can be too careless with the ball. Ja Morant is Murray State’s primary ball handler, it’s inevitable that he will have a few turnovers, but it more is about when and how these turnovers happen. In the Murray State-Marquette game, he had a few turnovers that certainly could have been avoided. One that sticks out is his behind the back pass that went out of bounds in the second half at the 12:52 mark with the score being 57-42.
His team was leading, but stupid turnovers like this could possibly change the outcome of the game. With their second-round matchup against Florida State, Ja Morant and Murray State will face more length than they have played. When they played Alabama, he finished the game with 10 turnovers. He will have to use his play making ability and almost play a perfect game to continue this run for Murray State.
