" Tony Toe-Tap" to the Tennessee Titans?

Bailey Biddle

The Tennessee Titans have shown interest in trading for “diva” wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Antonio Brown is the second highest paid wide receiver in the league behind Odell Beckham Jr. Brown is 30 years old and will be entering his 10thNFL season. Brown is a seven-time pro bowler, four first-team all pro, and led the league in touchdowns in 2018.

To add to his resume, he led the league in receiving yards in 2014 and 2015. He also led the league in receptions in 2014 and 2015. Despite all these statistics, the trade value for Brown is not as high as you would think.

Currently, the Pittsburg Steelers are asking for a first round pick or better for “Mr. Big Chest”. This is where the Tennessee Titans come into play. The Titans currently have six picks in the 2019 NFL Draft, and are without a sixth-round pick.

This draft is setting up perfectly for the Titans, who sit at number 19 in the draft, and is going to fill a huge need. If the Titans could manage to get Brown for a second rounder or less, it would be a major steal for this franchise. It is highly unlikely you will get a better receiver than Brown with the number 51 pick in the draft.

Brown is the best receiver in the NFL and will be until proven otherwise. For the Titans, Corey Davis was the only player on the team that had at least 60 receptions and 500 receiving yards. The Titans had no player on the team that had more than four touchdown catches. The Titans were in the top five in the NFL for most dropped passes in the league.

The Titans have a strong locker room presence to be able to control AB’s antics, and a great leader in Mike Vrabel. If the Titans can get Brown, they would have a very dangerous and explosive offense with Delaine Walker coming back from injury. Titans fans are longing for a major offseason move, and a star-studded receiver like Brown.

It will be tough to get him because the Raiders and Redskins have higher picks than the Titans and are known to both be active in the trade game. Ultimately, Jon Robinson, the GM for the Titans, already knows what he wants to do in the offseason. If the Titans can get AB for less than a first rounder without giving up a lot, is a steal for this franchise and organization.

This franchise has had three straight seasons of going nine and seven and is on the brink of mediocrity. This fan base and offense needs Brown on their team. Brown is under contract for three more seasons.

Since 2013, Brown has had at least 101 receptions, 1,284 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns.
